OpenAI Announces AI-Powered Search Engine Called SearchGPT

Recently, OpenAI revealed that it is developing a beta version of SearchGPT, an AI-powered online search tool that it plans to integrate into its AI chatbot ChatGPT. The Microsoft-funded AI startup said SearchGPT uses its AI models to find answers and results from the Internet along with relevant sources. To get feedback, a small group of users and publishers test the feature.

What is SearchGPT?

The search prototype for OpenAI’s AI-powered chatbot ChatGPT is called SearchGPT. It works like more traditional search engines in that it retrieves web content based on user-entered queries. On the other hand, businesses claim that by using AI models to filter relevant sources, it will be faster and easier to find what you’re looking for.

How does SearchGPT work?

Ask a question and SearchGPT will retrieve the latest data from the Internet. This ensures that the answers you receive are current and relevant to your question. You can interact with SearchGPT, unlike other search engines available today. You can ask them any follow-up questions or for more information, just like you would in a regular chat. Thanks to SearchGPT’s ability to remember the context of your query, it will be easy to find the information you need without having to start from scratch.

For example, when you look for a healthy diet you have a number of questions.

You are asking, “What are the benefits of the Mediterranean diet?” You get a short reply from SearchGPT with a link to a longer article. “Can you list some of the foods included in this diet?” You ask again. SearchGPT added, “Some of the foods included in the Mediterranean diet are olive oil, nuts, fish and vegetables,” with another link for additional details, remember your previous query.

Availability of SearchGPT?

Thanks to tools developed by OpenAI, publishers can now manage how their content appears in search GPT results. Publishers now have more control over how their content is presented. Despite OpenAI’s claim that SearchGPT is entirely search-focused and does not involve training OpenAI’s AI models, sites may still appear in search results.
